i wanna get published

i applied to a few trans poetry journals last month and one of then rejected me within a week and i still dont have a response from the other one :((

i didnt care about getting published until i had a teacher get personally invested in what i did with my work and now i almost feel like im letting them down even though they definitely wouldnt think that. 

just today i submitted my work to another zine, way smaller and specifically for queer and trans people in my city so im way more likely to get accepted to this one, here’s to hoping. 

after i sent them my works they asked me to explain them a bit and it was actually really nice to talk about exactly why j wrote the way i did. i usually dont like to explain my poems to people before they read them so they can relate in their own way, but i had never written an explanation down until now it just kinda felt good lol
