Foggles are basically goggles that are very cloudy on the top-half, so that you can't see out of the cockpit. It simulates flying in fog. It was pretty windy up there, so the plane was getting pushed around like a tin can. But! I got some good experience with wrestling the wind to keep the plane level!
We also did this tolerance training thing, where I basically gotta close my eyes and keep my head down while the instructor does all kinds of maneuvers and I have to try and sense what he's doing. And it also gets me more used to the feeling of turbulence/motion sickness.
Goodness, I got really disoriented really fast. It was so much fun though. I was like, "Oh, you're turning left. Now right. Now you're definitely going up. And now- AAAAAAAAAGH WE'RE GOING DOWN WE'RE GOING DOWN WAIT DON'T DO THAT DON'T DO THA- oh okay now we're straight and level."
So much fun, I can't even express how exciting it feels! XD I feel like we're just two kids up there having fun playing in a giant toy. But, LEARNING! Oh man, I just really enjoyed our flight today.
We took this really old plane up today from 1962 since all the others were booked out, holy moly it was old in there. But comfortable. Oh, yeah, and I accidentally slammed my thumb in the door when I was shutting it- IT HURT. IT REALLY HURT. Hahaa..... But I toughed it out and manhandled the controls as much as I needed to keep that plane level.
I just ate my favorite burger, and I'm still so energized.... I wish I could fly again sooner than the 12th, but a heat wave is coming.... I hope all is going to be well for my next flight.
