The Idea of Vacation

I'm a 16 year old high school student who still lives with their parents, so this could all change in the future. Just a disclaimer. Holy shit though, vacation doesn't feel like what everyone imagines it to be like. This is the first time I've ever been on vacation due to some financial struggles my mother has faced in the past. This is truly the first time I can even remember going out of state apart from moving last year to the state bordering the one I grew up in. I've been near the ocean for 4 days now, and have 3 more after this and essentially I have felt empty the whole time. My girlfriend let me borrow her copy of Pokemon shield, so I've been playing that or my own copy of Ultra Sun the entire time I have been here. I have only motivated myself to go into the ocean once. It's disgusting and somewhat upsetting. I just don't understand all the hype I suppose.
