a teensy weensy poem about the trans genocide
More than Death, More than Survival
I want to live.
This statement shouldn't be extremist
But many see it as so.
I want to live.
My life has only just begun
I want to see it through.
So many like me
Don't get to.
Autonomy, joy, love,
Are taken from our hands
Every single day.
I want to live.
Grief for those I never had the privilege to meet
Weighs on my consciousness.
Why doesn't it weigh on yours?
We want to live.
We want to grow old.
We want to be there to raise
The next generation of us.
