Southern Appalachian Folk, Where are y'all hiding?

.

Hello Fellow Cryptids of Rural America!

I think it would be neat if we found each other and formed some semblance of community on here!
Historically, these areas are supposedly good at creating strong communities, so let's put that to the test.

The south is super diverse, and I'm curious to know more about YOU.

Introduce yourself, What's your story?
How did you get here, or have you always been here?
What is your favorite thing about the area? What do you dislike?
Any cool spaces and places you want to share?
Know any spooky folklore?
Anything at all that you want to share?

Lets get some conversations going, let's make some friends!

Please include your age so that adults don't interact with minors. Safety first!
** -Phobias, -Isms, and hateful rhetoric are not welcome here! Let's be respectful of each others humanity**

♡ Y'ALL MEANS ALL

My name is Kari (29;She/her). I'm Queer and Mexican-American. When I was little my parents moved our family to the South. As an adolescent, I wasn't a fan of the area, but since then I've really grown to love these beautiful mountains and appreciate certain aspects of the history and culture. Sometimes the people can be frustrating, but I've still managed to find an array of individuals who are cool and interesting.
