Very Easy Japanese Fruit Sandwich!

Hi, everyone!

Sorry, I haven't been posting...in all honesty, I haven't made anything new. But, this week there should be some new meals (even desserts) to try! Like last night, I decided to make homemade whipped cream. I was so scared but it turned out great! So then, I decided to make my first Japanese Fruit Sando. It was so easy and delicious. Let's get into it!

Ingredients:

Whipped Cream Ingredients:

1 cup cold heavy whipping cream

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

--------------------------------

2 slices Japanese milk bread

a case of strawberries

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first thing you're going to do is get a medium mixing bowl out and pour the ingredients in there. Whip your ingredients on medium-high speed for 3-4 minutes until medium peaks. Depending on your mixer it might take a few minutes to mix. Medium peaks are somewhere between soft peaks and stiff peaks.

If you accidentally over-whipped the cream, pour in a little bit more cold heavy cream and then just fold it in gently with a spatula. Either way grab a spatula in a bit, to apply in the sandwich. Finished with the cream...easy! Now onto assembling the sandwich!

Next, you'll gather your strawberries and give them a good rinse, if you haven't already. Slice the leaves off to have a clean-looking strawberry. I used about 4 because they were really small. Set those aside.

Then, you'll lay a sheet of saran wrap on the counter and place two slices of your Japanese Milk bread. Add a layer of whipped cream and add your strawberries on top in one direction. Next, you'll add another layer of whipped cream on top of the strawberries. Sort of like, filling in the sides and cracks between the fruit.

Place your other slice on top. Tightly wrap your sandwich in the saran wrap. The tighter the better (in my opinion). Don't turn your sandwich around, or you'll lose the placement/position of your fruit. After wrapping, get a market and draw a line where your fruit is at, so you know where to slice.

Next, place in the fridge to chill for 25 minutes. You can even chill overnight. After the chilling process, take ou, slice off the crust, and slice open That's it, pretty simple! Here's what mine looked like:

When it was chilling, it seemed like everyone in the house, had picked it up and played with it. Which is why the strawberries are moved and lop-sided. So, keep in mind to make sure to hide it or something when chilling, haha.

Pretty simple recipe for a quick snack. You can use any fruit really. I've seen oranges, grapes, kiwis, peaches, etc. Either way, I hope you get to make this treat and enjoy it!

Until next time,

Zelly :)
