I didnt know what category to put this in,
but basically how do you guys come up with OC's and fully form them? like I have no idea where to start but I want to be apart of OC making communities!
I have ideas for characters - but is it okay if its based of a distorted version of me etc?

I believe the majority of first OCs are an alternate version of the creator's self so I think that's fine. Gotta start somewhere.
I don't know what to say than just do it. Mess around with drawing them and type up who they are and their background somewhere. What helps me is discussing OCs with friends. They will give you actual input and you could get advice or ideas from listening to your friends explain their own OCs too.
Roleplaying with my OCs helped me flesh them out a lot but barely anyone does it anymore like they did a decade ago. So good luck with that.
