M - a poem

You look like a galaxy.

Did I ever tell you that?

Your body is a constellation

My own star-strewn map

My world, it seemed so small,

Until your stars, they took me in.

They taught me of much bigger things

Of virtue, and of sin

You’re not my whole world

Because you’re galaxies to me

When I steal a glance at you

The heavens is what I see

Why lie beneath a starry sky,

When I can have you here?

I understand the twinkling night

When you just hold me near

I love you to the moon, they say

So let the night be ours

I will be your moon, then,

If you will be my stars
