Honestly I think it's goes something like
You become a ghost if
- You still owe someone living/need to complete something on earth
- You get lost on the way to the afterlife
- You didn't sign enough to go to hell or weren't good enough to go to heaven or whatever afterlife dimensions
- You died a particularly traumatic death, or you can't get over your death
- You're attached (emotionally) to your possessions or family members
i know about those, but i wondered of the possibility of becoming a ghost by sheer will. a hypothesis of sorts
