my top mcr songs ^w^

HI ALRIGHT i wanted to make a list of my favorite mcr songs nd ramble about them a little bit i adore this band so so much x3 i wouldddd make a "top 10" but i rlly Cannot sort them so the order is just random !!!

1. drowning lessons - bullets (2002)

"a kiss goodbye, your twisted shell, as rice grains and roses fall at your feet. we'll say goodbye, the hundredth time and then tomorrow we'll do it again"

OHHH my god this song!! i think it has some of my favorite vocals from gerard ever. the story and lyrics are so nice and really encompass the vibe of the early band's music perfectly. the guitar is also some of the best i've ever heard from them !!! it gives me 2000's amv vibes HAHA i adore pretty much mcr song that's very story heavy and while this isn't that *theatrical* it's very story driven. the fact the song is "cursed" both is so cool but AWFUL cus i'll never hear it live !!!!! literally feels like it'd be a heavenly experience.

2. i never told you what i do for a living - three cheers (2004)

"another knife in my hands, a stain that never comes off the sheets, clean me off. i'm so dirty babe!"

THIS ONE .. I THINK IT HAS TO BE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE EVER OR AT LEAST IN A HYPOTHETICAL TOP 3. the emotion in this song is UNMATCHED it gives me such chills at the end and is such an explosive end to the album and wrap of the (alive) demolition lovers story. the guitar in the beginning sounds so unique too it's just so violent and harsh. it's just so so real and emotional and theatric like, i don't think i've ever heard someone sing such painful desperation in my entire life. i can't listen to this song casually, srsly, i have to deafen myself and have an interrupted experience with this song 

3. sleep - the black parade (2006)

"and through it all, how could you cry for me? cause i don't feel bad about it. so shut your eyes, kiss me goodbye, and sleep"

this one is actually a recent favorite !! i never rlly paid much attention to it but i think it's one of the most satisfying mcr songs. the lyrics r also REALLY COOL epecially the little interview part in the beginning. probably the best on the black parade as well. i HAVE to hear the "sleeeeEEEEEeeeppp just SLEEEEEEP" at the end live b4 i die i'm not even kidding

4. the sharpest lives - the black parade (2006)

"juliet loves the beat and the lust it commands. drop the dagger and lather the blood on your hands, romeo"

SOME OF MY FAVE LYRICS EVER!!! it sounds very theatric as well and the beginning with the guitar and the whisper backing vocals?!?!? INSANE !!! ABSOLUTELY CRAZY !!!! it makes me want to fucking mosh i just want to go bonkers to this song and listen to it w my bf <333 awesome love song tbhhh

5. literally every song on tbp: the b sides (heaven help us, my way home is through you, kill all your friends)

"you don't know a thing about my sins, how the misery begins, you don't know, so i'm burning!"

"do you wanna hold my hand? could you sign this photograph cus i'm your biggest fan? would you leave me lying here?

"so tell me all about your problems, i was killing before killing was cool. you're so cool, you're so cool!"

okay how is the b-side album originals better than the actual tbp album.. anyways these songs have such quirky cool parts in them !!! like the little talking part in my way home, the overlapping vocals in the end of heaven help us, and the BA BA BA in kill all ur friends !!!! they're just so fun and cool and would also make my hypothetical top 3 or 5

6. foundations of decay - single (2022)
"let our bodies lay, mark our hearts in shame. let our blood in vain, you find god in pain"

honestly, if i were to describe mcr with one song it would b this. .. most punk/alt/rock groups come back after years and make something TOTALLY new n different and sometimes rlly bad but this song stayed so true to ALL of their albums while staying super new!!! it describes the members especially gerard and the forming of the band and their lives so much. i think this song just.. is so mcr. it's so good. i played this shit on LOOP when it came out !!!

7. planetary go - danger days (2010)
"you're unbelievable, ah, so unbelievable. ugh, you ruined everything, oh you better go home. i'm unbelievable, yeah, i'm undefeatable, yeah, let's ruin everything! blast it to the back row!"

omg .. i remember seeing this a few years after it came out in my recommended and somehow i never listened to it bcus i GENUINELY didn't realize it was an mcr song HAHA but honestly!! danger days gets so much hate!! it's still authentic to mcr, just brighter and more pop. i like the electronic dance features in this album especially this song. another song i'd love to mosh to omg

8. desert song - life on the murder scene (2006)

"from the lights to the pavement, from the van to the floor, from backstage to the doctor, from the earth to the morgue"

ok this one is also super hard to listen to casually. it's so raw and sad :[ but so beautifully written as well as having the prettiest gerard vocals i've ever heard. how his voice gets raspy/broken near the end makes me go insane. the build up in the end has me BAWLING my eyes out fr :[ !!! i love it so much though, hate that it's so personally sad

okay!! finished!! i like a few more but these are the main ones i can form Coherent thoughts abt .. my taste is spectacular i think!!! :P thank u for reading if u did !!!!
