Laptop troubles :(

Got my screen fixed and thought everything was going to be okay. Unfortunately one of the drivers is messed up and my sound doesn't work. :(  My tech guy told me that I could try updates and a new fix that has to download. I'm thinking if after the updates that it doesnt work, I'm going to have to save up for a new laptop. Or possibly a desktop computer thats really nice. I'm really displeased with my laptop right now, but if the sound comes back I'll be immensly pleased.
