The threads aren't "dead" really persay they are just slower is all.
Typically you want to look under blogs and recent entrys and friend them and or look at their friends profiles and find those with common interests since if you find a blog you like and sub too then their friend list tends to have simliar people.
A lot of people post to their bulltions instead of their blogs! So you gotta friend some people.
