"Escape," a poem I wrote today

I wrote the following poem on March 30, 2023. It explores some dark but mature topics, but it is not explicit. What do you think? What is your reaction to it? "Escape" Stinging tears running down my cheek,  
Glaring light biting into my eyes.  
Trembling breaths caught in my chest,  
My heart heaving from suffocating dread.

Desperately fleeing from my torment,  
Wildly racing towards my freedom.  
Lengthening shadows tightening my throat,  
Acid burns, my legs seize.

Faltering at the iron gate,  
A final push, my hope remains.  
A surging rush of tears and pain,  
Forgiveness found on this moonless night.
