book review: do androids dream of electric sheep

story is fantastic! i thought it was pretty awesome, buildup was good, even moreso toward the end. i will likely spoil if i go too into detail about the story! so i'll leave all those bits to the end. 

the art is...something fierce, that's for sure. anatomically incorrect is the most of it, and the black out shadows don't exactly compliment the colors.

speaking of, the colors are extremely off and strange against the realistic art style. liquids are strange, too, they look more like goop than something to be drunk. the art gets worse as the book goes on, reusing pages over and over again.

spoiler parts!

i thought that rick deckard's whole character arc with emphasizing with androids was beautifully done, along with his humanity in general. he was written pretty realistically, along with the other cast. 

i didn't quite care for the way the women were treated. especially at the end of the book (cannot recall her name for the life of me) when that robed android woman was described using her breasts. it was weird. 

most of them seem to be objectived, android or human. either that or completely apathetic, like rick's wife. most are not above being cruel, like pris. from the standpoint of their universe i can get it, but their personalities are usually bland or lacking. of course the android women have a bit more. their complexities come with them being android since identity has a lot to do with defining personality traits. i just wish that i had saw more with a few of them, like pris.
