I haven't been a barista for a long time but in the time I've had this job I can say I feel my mental health progress is moving back instead of forward. You have to be a certain type of patient person to be a barista especially for sbux. Boomers and some older millennials can be some of the worst people ever. Belittling you and verbally abusing you for being human and forgetting something in their drink or even worse when they look at it don't drink it and ask me to remake because the color isn't right. Now I'm not saying to not get your drink fixed because again we are human and will gladly do so but when people act so entitled it breaks at your spirit and confidence slowly. Also this is a little side rant but we just launched a new drink at sbux the "oleato". ITS OLIVE OIL INFUSED COFFEE WTF!!!!

I feel you, customer facing work can be absolutely exhausting. It really does feel like people care about no one but themselves sometimes. Stay strong!
