I'm bored out of my mind at work, so I will make a small rant on analog horror and how it personally has been for me recently
I get that literally nobody has had an original idea or experience, but why are they all just a spooky face on a black background or an infomercial about an entity. At least the ones I'm seeing, same goes for TikTok and its spooky analog horror edits, like steezus chirst please try something new, it's getting boring and repetitive. Like think of something else or try some original designs or I don't know, at least somehow diverse the concept.
While I'm not someone who has the time and energy to pump out actual videos, I'm still a consumer and an avid fan of this genre so I feel like I can at least complain about this.
There is so much potential in the analog horror genre, not just found footage or some spooky death tapes. Take Skinamarink for example - I personally think it falls under the analog horror genre and it for once does things differently, not even showing the monster other than vivid images in the dark which could even not be the "monster" itself. But yea no let's just slap a white distorted face on a black background and put a VHS filter on it.
It doesn't even have to be realistic in my personal opinion: The macabre experiment as well as other Stuffy studios' projects are a pretty good example. Everything is clearly stylized AND IT WORKS GODAMNIT, not even mentioning Walten Files, I think that one's pretty obvious. Also, I have heard of The ChezzKids archives, but never got into it though I should probably check it out.

TLDR: I think that there should be more diversity in the genre
Thanks for coming to my TED talk, I literally just shoved a bunch of comments from my brain together.
