Email scam to look out for!

Hi! Just posting to warn people about a phishing scam that has been going around for years that many might not know about. I've searched about it online and only found 1-2 links talking about it, but here is what it is:

-Comes from a random email address with a name, "E-BILLING"." Just the email address itself is very sketchy because it doesn't come from the official website that it is posing as (PayPal).

-Just says something along the lines of "your order has been done" or "your order has been processed" as the body with no contact information, greeting, or signature.

-Includes a photoshopped PayPal invoice (they literally just photoshopped the logo onto it, but the invoice itself isn't even formatted the same way as a regular PayPal invoice. PayPal invoices don't typically include images of purchases made. It will also include a "help" link. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS IMAGE AND DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! It could contain a virus or redirect you to a site where either 1. You will be prompted to call a fake hotline where they will attempt to get your bank info or 2. An error will pop up and a virus will enter your computer in an attempt to extract information from your online activity/files. The "invoice" itself may also contain spelling/grammar mistakes, so look out for those as well.

-The invoice that I have seen usually involves an air rifle, but it can be any expensive product, typically at least a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

Unfortunately, I couldn't include a photo of the email because I reported it immediately. If you see this email, report it for phishing, change your PayPal password, and check for any changes or charges to your PayPal/bank account. If a charge does pop up, call your bank IMMEDIATELY and request a refund and request a new card. These kinds of emails are typically sent to bait you into downloading the image or sending your bank information.

Stay safe out there!
