Ranting about my persona 5 headcanons

If you don't want to read the massive rant, you can just read the list of headcanons on my TUMBLR. All you'll be missing is my justifications accompanied by rants of various lengths.

First off. Let's get a big one out of the way with. Futago siblings. I don't care what any of y'all have to say. Futaba and Goro are half-siblings. It is canon in my heart. I even have 'evidence' to back myself up.

- Wakaba never mentioned who the father was which would make sense if she'd had a one night stand with a politician. Especially one like Shido.

- Wakaba had connections to Shido.

- Goro was also born from a one night stand his mother had with Shido. (Shido is such a whore omg)

- Their blood type is AB- (AB- is about 1% of the population)

Not only would it make sense based on what we know, it would also add a lot of depth to the story. Akechi, blinded by his need to avenge his mother, kills his half sibling's mother (who I head canon him to also have some form of relationship with as well). Goro knows who Futaba's mother is. He knows he killed her so imagine what he must be thinking when he works with them (granted he may have been so lost in the sauce of his revenge by then that the thought never crossed his mind) just to find out that Futaba is his sister. It opens up so much opportunity for some sweet sweet angst that I really want to believe it's canon.

Another headcanon I believe very strongly in is that Ryuji can't tie his shoes. He either wears velcro shoes or his mother ties them for him still. If they come undone during the day, I feel like Ann would fix them for him.

I'm just gonna get it out of the way with but the entire cast is autistic or AuDHD. I have a list of them on my phone that I will definitely paste on here after I publish it on my computer.

I also headcanon them all as queer in some regard.

Ren: Bi, FTM, AuDHD, demi

Ryuji: Bi FTM, He/They, AuDHD, asexual

Morgana: Straight, genderfluid, asexual, autistic

Ann: Pan, asexual, AuDHD

Yusuke: Gay, asexual, demiromantic

Makoto: Lesbian, autistic, asexual, demiromantic

Futaba: NBLW, agender, she/they, AuDHD, ace

Haru: Lesbian, cis, autistic, asexual

Goro: Gay, FTM, autistic, demi

Kasumi: Pan, MTF, autistic

Maruki: Autistic (I haven't reached third semester yet)

Sojiro: Straight, autistic

Zenkichi: Autistic, demi

Sophie: Autistic, Lesbian, aroace, any pronouns, mostly it/its

Ren is extremely flirty but hold his hand and that fucker will evaporate. (He is touch starved)

- Akira likes slice of life and romance anime.

- Ryuji likes Shonen with the occasional Shoujo anime.

- Morgana likes Shonen but specifically DBZ, Naruto and Jojo.

- Ann likes Shoujo. Her favourites are Cardcaptor Sakura and Kamisama Kiss. I feel she'd also be a Fruits Basket fan.

- Yusuke likes anything with nice art or an art centered plot. Your Lie in April and Violet Evergarden are the two he will talk about for ages.

- Makoto likes sci-fi and detective/mystery anime.

- Haru likes horror, historical, psychological horror and the occasional romance. 

- Goro likes magical girl anime the most. (I will expand on this. Trust me.)

- Sophie likes slice of life and Shoujo. She tried to imitate the moves she sees in the metaverse.

Kasumi and Haru bond over their love of horror and always go out to watch movies together.

When Goro was a kid, he and his mother would watch Sailor Moon together and he would get up and terribly copy the transformations. When Ren discovers this, he rewatches the entire original series again with Goro while obnoxiously singing the opening. Futaba occasionally joins them.

I feel like Goro had a really deep relationship with his mother before she died so I feel like after she died, Goro wanted an anime to cope with that reminded him of those times so I feel he liked Madoka afterwards until he started to construct his Detective Prince persona.

At the beginning of the game when we see what happened to Ren when he got arrested, I feel like he was actually running away from home. Throughout the entire year, his parents never contact him even once so I doubt they really care all that much about him and since I headcanon him as trans, I like to think that played a part in why he ran away.

It would add to the 'two sides of the same coin' thing that Ren and Goro have going on. I feel like Goro's always known that he was trans and his mother was very accommodating.

Continuing on from that last thought, I feel like Goro was able to get his hands on hormone blockers when he was young so when it came to working under Shido, he was able to disguise himself as a boy instead of his 'daughter' but when he's in Shido's palace and learns that Shido has always known who he truly is, he tells Goro he will always recognise 'that woman's' eyes. 

It's a good opportunity for angst.

Thinking about the way Ren was treated by his parents, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a palace before the events of the game that was only broken by him awakening to Arsene. Not only that but look at the way the police treated him in the interrogation. I feel he was probably treated similarly during his first arrest which led to him developing PTSD which would lead to a very interesting palace.

When Ren turns 18, I really want to believe he moves back in with Sojiro or at least back to Tokyo. I feel once he moves out of the attic (whether at the end of the game or when he finds somewhere else in Tokyo), he turns it into a memorial for Goro since no one but the thieves remember him.

Kasumi is MTF and it causes a lot of trouble for her in her gymnastics. I don't have anything else to say for this one.

Futaba and Ren are stimming machines. Ren constantly plays with his hair, scarf, glove or spins his phone or pen over his fingers. 

Futaba spins and rocks on her chair. She also bites her fingers and her nails. When she's particularly excited, she gets on her feet and swings around in her chair.

Sometimes, when they're both having a hard time, they sit in front of each other and play with each others hair. Typically they braid each others hair until their whole head is covered in braids.

Goro also stims but not as much as Ren and Futaba. He tries to spin his pen but he sucks at it. He also plays with his glove.

Ren regularly goes shopping with the girls and tries on dresses and heels with them. He always looks fantastic. Have you seen his outfit in Dancing?

In an attempt to mask, Ryuji will often make inappropriate jokes in order to 'fit in' with the other boys but he always does it at the wrong time.

Ren and Goro first bond over Greek myth and philosophy and whenever Goro misquotes someone, Ren bullies him relentlessly.

When Goro was younger, he and his mother would play Yu-Gi-Oh together and eventually the thieves help him to regain that part of his childhood.

After awakening to your persona, they act as an internal voice for their user. The wildcard users have multiple voices and whenever they gain a new persona, they slightly influence the persona users personality.

After going on the aquarium date with Akechi, he gets a giant turtle that he names after Goro's persona Robin Hood. He uses it to help him sleep and pretends that he's laying on his chest although that is probably Arsene's influence on his. (Yes I am an Arsene x Loki/Arsene x Robin Hood enjoyer) (Mostly Arsene/Loki) (I love murder boyfriends)

After Futaba deciphers Sophie's code, she gives her the option to change her appearance. She chooses to have the outfit from a magical girl anime she saw. (I like to believe she chose something from Pretear)

Yusuke has sensory problems and is very often overwhelmed by being in public. He has auditory-tactile synesthesia and audio-visual synesthesia which can sometimes make his meltdown worse. He uses his synesthesia to help him with his art.

After Goro throws his glove at Akira, I feel like he wears it both when he takes down Shido and Yaldy. I feel like it would feel wrong for him to leave Goro out of such an important moment for the thieves since, to Ren, Goro is one of them.

When he's having a hard day after that, he'll always put it on and go somewhere Goro likes. Usually Jazz Jin. Other times, when he reads about a place that he thinks Goro would like, he'll bring the glove with him as a way to show Goro all of these places he likely never got to see.

I've certainly got more headcanons floating around in my head but that's all I can think of right now. I really want to write a fanfiction so I have somewhere to see these besides my rants about it but I cannot write to save my life haha.

I'm begging anyone who knows of any good persona 5 fics (preferably Akechi/Ren) to send them my way. I'm in desperate need of more.
