what if your grandma could suddenly quack. not that she couldn't before it's just that now she has a bill to do it with.
it would be really cool if everyone just suddenly developed odd animal features. its been a topic of my daydreams for a while now, how our modern infrastructure and products might have to adapt for it, the societal effects, newfound power dynamics, the interlocking of humanity and added animal instincts, etc etc etc.
what would be seen as a more conventional and eventually desirable human-animal mutation? probably people mixed with better known animals, 'cute' creatures like cats and dogs and rabbits, 'cool' creatures like lions and bears and crocodiles, 'common' creatures like pigs or horses or cows. even 'quirky' combinations like anteaters and lemurs and maybe even elephant.
what would a slug person look like? or a worm? what would muntjac scent glans look on a person? what about an angler fish person? would a praying mantis hybrid kill her lover after becoming pregnant? how long would it take people to get used to not only their own new functions but also the way it physically alters their peers? would it be genetic, personality-based or purely random?
so many questions!!
personally i think it would be rather cool to have the legs and lower half of a spider starting below the hip area kinda like a messed up mermaid but realistically you'd probably get the eyes and the mandibles and the odd stubbly hair and sudden cravings for the insect people with it.
