A Demon King’s Introduction…

Oh how fitting! Just as I typed the title of this entry, “Danse Macabre, Op. 40” begins to play on my Amazon Music app 😌

Today, I will be recounting the tale of the very first time I invoked a demon. The demon I speak of is none other than High King Belial

“Belial.

Wicked One.

Without a Master.

Spirit of Worthlessness. Beliya’al.

Never-Ascending.

Lawless One. Beli’al

Angel of Enmity whose domain is darkness.

Enemy of gods and masters. Beliar.

Matanbucus.

Mastemo.

Chief Evil. Beli-ol.

Without a yoke, without shackles.

Immortal Resistor.

Ruler of this world. Belili.

Trespasser Beyond The Gates.

Disperser of Tyrants.

Nighttime Ruler of the Underworld. Baal-Ial.

Lord of arrogance.

Torrent of Death.”

- E. A. Koetting (“Belial: Without A Master”)

It was the summer of 2021. I had just bought a tarot deck and had decided to get back into practicing cartomancy. This led me to working with Angels. I began performing the LBRP (that is, the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram) twice a day, calling upon the four Archangels for protection and guidance. Until one evening, during one of these performances, Gabriel informed me that my destiny did not lie in the heavens for me, but “there”. He commenced to point into the distance, where a great black pit appeared before me. This, I knew, was the “there” he was referring to. “Look closer,” he said. Just then, I could just barely make out a distant faint glow, almost like a star. “That is your destiny, and it lies at the bottom of the Great Abyss, guarded by Abaddon himself.” Upon this, the archangels departed from me. This was the last time I ever heard from or saw them.

The following weeks, anything pertaining to Belial would show up in my feeds, algorithms, and even my waking life. Finally, upon a visit to YouTube, I gave in and watched a video about Belial by a man who goes by the pen name E. A. Koetting. I was entranced by this man’s experiences with this demon and his teachings. I began to conduct my own research. Eventually, I made the decision to invoke this great Demon King in order to speak with him.

After an entire week of making the proper preparations and going over the ritual, I was finally ready to call upon Belial. Little did I know, however, that it was King Belial calling upon me, and it was I who was answering to his call. I made the preparations, lit the candles and incense, and began reciting the following invocation:

I invoke Belial,

Guardian of the Gate to the Abyss,

Lord of the spirits of darkness,

Mighty and powerful king!

I summon the keeper of arcane knowledge,

He who was created next after Lucifer,

Who rides in a chariot of fire,

And speaks with the voice of angels and demons!

Lord Belial,

Come through the gate of the seven pointed star,

Arise from your abode in the wastelands of civilizations,

And from beneath the sands of time!

Answer my calling and reveal your presence to me,

Teach me the gnosis of the dark oracle,

The forbidden knowledge of the path of shadows,

And lead me into the Womb of the Dragon,

So that I may die and rise in strength,

From the ashes of the world to the thrones of the primal gods!

Show me how to find my way through infernal depths and empyrean heights,

Where your towers of wisdom shall guide me to the underworld of my soul!

Open for me the Gate to the Desert of Daath,

So that I may become the flesh and the blood of the Dragon!

Lord Belial,

I welcome you into my temple in this sacred and unholy rite!

As I was chanting, it began to rain outside. Funny
It wasn’t supposed to rain at all today, I thought to myself. I continued chanting. The sky began rumbling. As I continued, lightning began to strike all over the property outside. A but of thunder and lightning doesn’t scare me. The thunder and lightning began to calm, and a heavy wind picked up. It seemed to work around my house. I began to hear footsteps on either side of me. One set would pace away from me while the other paced toward me. They continued pacing back and forth. The candle flames grew brighter and larger, and things began flying off of my shelves and walls with such force! This is when I started feeling afraid. But I kept chanting. My furniture began to move and slide.

Finally, I had completed the invocation chant. Just above my altar, two cloaked beings appeared in the incense smoke. One wore a white cloak and had black skeletal hands, while the other wore a black cloak and had white skeletal hands. Their faces were hidden beneath their hoods. They were conjoined at the back, but they shared one voice. One would face me to speak, and then turn around so the other could speak. The following is the interaction between this being and I:

Belial: I AM HERE! I AM HERE! I AM HERE! HIGH KING BELIAL, THE WORTHLESS ONE, LORD OF ARROGANCE, THE ONE WHO RESIDES WITHIN THE TEMPLE AT THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS, AND THE TRESPASSER BRINGS THE GATES! WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU SEEK? *he pointed at me as he asked this*

Me: My name is XYZ, and I seek wealth, power, self-mastery, and vengeance upon my enemies. [I never give my real name online]

Belial: XYZ, is it? Do you know why I called you?

Me: From my understanding, it was I who called upon you.

Belial: HAHAHAHA!!! Do you actually believe that? Do you actually think that you called upon ME!? Pay attention to the last several weeks. You’ve seen me everywhere you look. I called upon you. You answered. And here we are. It’s clear to me that you haven’t the slightest idea as to why I called upon you. But in due time, you will know and understand ALL that you’ve been seeking the answers to.

Me: I look forward to learning from you and working with you, King Belial.

Belial: Not so fast! If you’re going to learn from me and work with me
if you seek my guidance and assistance in your goals, I will require a pact sealed in blood. Your blood!

Me: Very well then. I’ll put a pact together and we’ll seal it.

Belial: How are you going to enter into a pact with me, let alone anyany being of my particular ilk, while you’re still bound by a pact with the enemy of freedom and liberation, Yaldabaoth, who goes by the alias Jehovah?

Me: I had assumed that entering a pact with you would nullify my baptism.

Belial: Oh how stupid! How naïve can you possibly be! Look! You have a chain attached to you!

*He looked down at my ankles, drawing my attention to them, for me to see that I was shackled to a chain that led up through the ceiling and into Heaven*

Belial: I will enter into a pact with you. But before I do, you’re going to have to undo your baptism
an UNbaptism, to be exact!

Me: Then I’ll perform this unbaptism so that we may commence with the sealing of our pact.

Belial: Good! So then it is settled. You will undo your baptism, and we will enter into a pact thereafter. I will instruct you further tomorrow. For now, you need to rest. You’ve grown weary from this ritual, and much time has passed by.

With this, King Belial dissipated from before me and everything returned to normal. No rain, thunder, or wind. Although my things and furniture were still in disarray. What felt like twenty minutes was, in fact, three hours. As soon as I put the candles out, I felt as if I were about to go comatose. So I went straight to sleep and sleepy the best I had slept in years. And that, my friends, is how I met my beloved Demonic patron, High King Belial.

If anyone would like to hear about the unbaptism and the pact sealing, let me know and I’ll share it with you all. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoyed this recounting of an amazing experience!

Absolutely stunning. The writing is well done as well, very descriptive and detailed. I could picture it as if it was happening to myself instead.

I've always been fascinated by people's recounting with their faith and the deities they feel drawn to. I've been in a bit of a struggle lately with my own, I feel...disconnected. Maybe I've stopped putting in the work, or maybe my doubts led them to depart...

I'm curious about this unbaptizing though...I was raised Catholic, and fell away from it as I grew to learn about Wicca, then Paganism, and eventually Witchcraft. I have a small tarot collection building, but I barely touch them...depression is annoying at best...

Anyway! Before I ramble further, well done! You should definitely do more of these.

I plan on it! I have so much to tell about my interactions with him and some of the others. There were a few typos I noticed in this one. I’ll have to be better about that from here on. But thank you for the compliment!

As for your own deities, it sounds as though you may be going through a Dark Night of the Soul. Or, as King Belial would put it, the “Pains of Metamorphosis”.

Honestly...that 100% tracks too. A conversation for DMs perhaps though? Either way. Thank you for the advice!
