My bird is seeing ghosts!!!

Heyooo!! :) So! I did some research on how to make my profile look cool and i think i understand..? BUT!! I currently have ExAmZ!!!!! ;_; When my exams are finished I will make it look better than this lolz xp

Anyways, I have a question: my pet bird Sardine keeps screaming and flapping his wings at a specific spot in his cage, as if he is seeing a ghost, but there is nothing there. Does anyone know why? It kinda scares me ngl T^T He also keeps getting out of his cage at night, so it wakes me up and I have to put him back. I don't know if I should take him to a vet or something... WHAT IF THERE ARE GHOSTS IN MY ROOM AND HE CAN SEE THEM?!?! I'm scared!!! D:

If the cage is to small maybe get a bigger cage. Redecorate the cage, maybe there is something irritating or scary in it. Mirror ? If yes, out with them, in the trash cause that is what they are. Perches ? with different textures and stuff? If not maybe it's uncomfortable.

Are there shadows, or is the cage close to a window, then maybe fix that.

Leaving the cage at night and/or flying around your room might be night fright, close the cage door to make sure nothing too bad won't happen and turn the light on for a few minutes when you hear suspicious movement. Maybe get a night light.

Also, keep in mind that the bird is "prey", you stare at them, and they think you going to attack them. So remember that they are prey, they are constantly aware of their surroundings.

Thanks for the advice! His cage is quite big, he's a parakeet and his cage I got from my friend who had a parrot. He has a few swings and some toys but no mirror. He is near the window tho.. Maybe I will try changing that.

It's good to hear that you aren't one of those micro cage mirror owners.

I think your best choice of action is to take him to the vet if you are concerned about it.
