“We can’t choose what we want and don’t want and that’s the hard lonely truth. Sometimes we want what we want even if we know it’s going to kill us. We can’t escape who we are.”
“But depression wasn’t the word. This was a plunge encompassing sorrow and revulsion far beyond the personal: a sick, drenching nausea at all humanity and human endeavor from the dawn of time.”
Theo has such a strong place in my heart, his experience with everything is so dreadful and hits so deeply to people who have not gone through such horrific experiences. Seeing the way he attaches himself to people because of the incident is so interesting. The way he is so in love with Pippa, but understands that what he is feeling is not romantic love, yet longing love, but still having a hard time accepting it really shows his character. His relationship with Boris in the book will forever be personal to me, their romantic indications is so beautiful and their reunion is everything to me. I will forever love Theo Decker.
