Writing a horror novel.(pro's and con's)

Sometime in early 2020, I got the idea in my head that I was able, or should at least scratch a item off my bucket list. After years reading comics and watching horror films and tv show, I thought(after a full bottle of apothic wine) I should try and write a comic book and to some extent, illustrate it. After a few weeks of tinkering around with ideas and concepts, I can to the realization, that this was a huge undertaking. The story that I had envisioned would be a six issue series, with art that was both classic horror comics and a good bit of Saturday morning cartoons.

I turned to number of friends that have published books or art for pointers, and after seeing how big the project was eating on the written side of things, I decided to make it a book...a real book.

jump to January 2021...
I've got my manuscript 90% done, and I'm currently deciding on the lay out and art direction of both the cover and insert pages. Being a first time author, and not a very good language arts student, nor a student of good grammar, I must say that it's been a very cathartic and enjoyable endeavor. I would strongly suggest to anyone that's thinking of jumping in to writing, to do it.
thanks
