Kind strangers

I cannot emphasize how much strangers can change someone's day. Or at least mine.

Let me give you a brief insight: I am born Spanish but living in Germany at the moment. I give you this information because it probably plays some part in my daily experiences.

Ever since I was little (no matter which country I was living in) the spontanous kindness of a stranger always made me feel so happy and cozy. Like walking on warm sand in a sunny beach. -Yes, I tried to get poetic on my first diary post.-

If you were to ask me right now how I feel about my life I would respond with a gloomy answer and then proceed to tell you about everything it's missing.

However today stood out from the rest of my gloomy days.

I was sitting on a bench, on the train station, waiting for my train to arrive. As I noticed time pass and no train arriving to my platform I took out my phone to check for updates. It had turned out that the platform of arrival had been switched and I obliviously sat there waiting while instead my train departed from the platform behind me. Apparently this had been announced on the station speakers but with my bad german skills and the terrible speaker quality I did not hear a thing.

Next to me sat a young woman reading a book and she looked friendly enough to ask for help. She let me know about what had happened with my train and also helped me download the right train app so I can see the english updates the next time. She was so kind in the way she spoke and she seemed to be very open so I had the courage to speak to her further. I used my gut feelings to decide that she wouldn't mind if I told her about how stressed I felt that it was my second time being late for work. She was a good listener while I told her my worries and we ended up having a lovely conversation.

At the end of our chat she revealed that she was partially Itlian which I was not surprised to hear! I even dared to ask her for her social media before she got on her train. It had been such a long time since I felt that I could speak so easily to a stranger. It really makes such a difference. Some people make you feel extremely awkward and shy. But other people are so welcoming that you immediately become confident and inclined to open up to them.

This kind woman removed all my worries like she was a wizard. My mood had been magically switched and it even lasted for the rest of the day.

Luckily I also did not get into any trouble when I finally arrived at work. I had a chat with my boss and got to know him a bit better. He was also kind and understanding about everything. I have been working there for only 4 weeks and being late for the second time was an understandable worry to have.

It took me two years to learn not to rely german trains since I rarely take them. So to anyone reading this who plans on visiting or living here. You've been warned!

I'd love to hear similar strangers stories from my readers ☆

this was so wholesome
i've never had such an experience but now that i read this post, i do want to experience something like this

but yes, it is true that people truly can give off a vibe if they're good hearted or just an asshole or like if they're hurt, anything like from their personality to their current feelings

especially us intuitives (people that follow their gut and can actually feel the athmosphere) can feel/see it

i have had many moments where i felt uneasy just coming into a room or when i've guessed what type of person were my professors that couldn't hide their vibe

so yeah

Thank you for your comment.
You must have had some experience with a stranger's kindess(?) If not then that sucks :/
And lovely to hear that you are in tune with your intuition 💕
