Things I’m looking forward to

I twisted my ankle at the start of this month and, while at first I was just looking forward to getting off the crutches (never realized how much leg muscle was needed to use these, my stars!) now that I have, I have a whole list of things I’m excited about!

Looking forward to being able to -

- Walk without staring at my feet to make sure my bad foot doesn’t accidentally land on something slightly not-level (like the edge of a rug)

- Take a freaking shower without carefully balancing and still having pain.

- Sit cross legged (never knew I was taking that one for granted but dang!)

- Sit on my couch without the risk of further hurting myself when it’s time to stand up again

- Walk to my job at the time I want instead of when my ride feels like it. (I like to show up 15m early but the person willing to drive me wants to show up exactly on time and sometimes late)

- Not risking further injury (as much) because my cat is trying to trip me up and I can’t put full weight on the bad side to catch myself when she succeeds.

- Not wake up in the middle of the night because I accidentally twisted my foot SLIGHTLY too much in my sleep and now it’ll hurt for 20 minutes. (Though already appreciating that it doesn’t hurt 24/7 anymore)



And, not strictly related to my injury (probably more about the fact I’m aging) I hope I’m still motivated to try yoga again when this has passed cause my flexibility is totally shot lately and it’s annoying as heck.
