Helloo again. I'm here at 11:47 PM with a last note before sleep gets me :3
Today I was telling my mother about 7 of tyler the creator's albums (b*st*rd, goblin, wolf, cherry bomb, flower boy, IGOR, call me if you get lost) In like a documentary style thing with my favorite songs included ;-;
(these are mostly my opinions on songs and my mums reaction. I got most of this info from a tyler documentary on yt so pls correct me if im wrong ;-;)
(first post and I'm talking about my mother LMAO)
I started with B*st*rd and told her it was mostly like I guess like goofy cuz of Assmilk and french! but also interesting like Blow and B*st*rd(the song). Overall the album was good and my favs are basically the ones i mentioned, but also including Odd Toddlers:D
Then Goblin was just like more i guess like "edgy" with Radicals being "kill people burn sh*t f*ck school" and then some songs not sounding too good, but there are a few that are good like Tron cat, She and Yonkers especially (they even got their own music vids). I told my mum that Yonkers was really popular due to the music video of tyler eating a cockroach and shocking alot of people. In the end, she mostly started to think that he was a bit crazy or something ;-;
Next is Wolf, which was the first album in a studio and more calm but still keeping the same goofy. This was shown with a song like Answer, talking about Tyler's father, and other songs like IFHY and Awkward. but Slatter, Pigs and Colossus being the same goofy sh*t, with Colossus featuring a Six Flags incident with Tyler and some fans. The album is really great and in my case, I gotta listen to it more. My mum at this point was starting to sorta drop the idea of Tyler being like "crazy" crazy, but more for the fun of it
Continuing on is Cherry Bomb, which had everyone thinking. Tyler really experimented with the songs here, with DEATHCAMP being really loud throughout but also some good songs like 2SEATER, SMUCKERS, KEEP THE O's and OKAGA, CA. I think the only concerning song on here is F*CKING YOUNG/PERFECT, where Tyler talks about being in love with girl six years younger than him, like huh ;-; why it sound good lmaoo. The album is more of a hit or miss for some people, but in general good. For this album, my mum did see the benefit in Tyler experimenting and finding what would be great for his next album :D
Now, Flower Boy is actually really meaningful than the others, looking INTO Tyler and him representing his sexuality, with a song like Garden shed, which could be represented as the closet. This was the first album I ever heard, with some amazing songs like See You Again, 911/Mr Lonely, Pothole, Who That Boy and more. My mum thought it was nice on an album about this :3
IGOR is beyond amazing, featuring the whole album being a love triangle, with a male love interest, experiencing heartbreak, jealousy and acceptance. This is shown with basically all the songs in the album ;-;. My favorite songs were PUPPET, I THINK, GONE GONE/THANK YOU and ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? This album even won a grammy, which is amazing and congrats to Tyler. The album is just a work of art that we can all appreciate. My mum thought it was really wholesome and awesome that it won a grammy.
Finally, Tylers most recent album (aka 2 years ago)with CALL ME WHEN YOU GET LOST. The songs are great, but I don't really know what would CMWYGL mean other than a failed relationship with the song WILSHIRE. The song WILSHIRE is 8 minutes long, but it's an entire story told on how a friendship with a girl could've flourished into a better relationship together than the girl and her boyfriend, but after the girl told him everything and what can only be described by Tyler as "hell" in the song, He started to grow a hatred towards her until ending off on a good note, still being good friends. Some amazing songs are all of them, but my personal favs are WILSHIRE, MANIFESTO, CORSO and SIR BAUDELAIRE. I told my mum abt WILSHIRE, and she said that it was really in depth and amazing how a story became music.
Overall, my mom had a rollercoaster of opinions, staring Tyler The Creator as a "crazy guy" to a "guy who is himself" In my opinion, his music is amazing and hopefully he keeps making more AWESOME music and continues with his merch and perfume as well :DD
Thank you if you read the entirety of this (you read a random story about some kid talking to his mum abt a goofy rapper, I'm proud of you and thank you) I also have to thank my girlfriend because without her, I would've never known about Tyler, The Creator
