2 years between posting is totally normal and acceptable behavior. i refuse to elaborate or expand upon that statement. anyway, here are some more songs that are important to myself and my character development as a human being.

this is one of the really early hip hop songs i heard in my life. i was super raised on dad-rock, which was fine, but left me with a pretty severe desire for music that wasn't on every classic rock station. i rented Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 for PS2 and this is the first song you'll hear when you start playing on Camp Woodward, no matter what game type you choose. i unknowingly already really liked DJ Premier from the Limp Bizkit song he produced. i'm not positive what makes me dig this song so much, but being able to name a Gang Starr song at like 8 years old impressed my neighbor so much he lent me a CD that had some more real pivotal shit on it.

my neighbor Tiger was an interesting dude. i think he spent some time in and out of the prison system but he was a totally good dude to all of us kids in the neighborhood. he took a liking to me and would give boxing lessons to me while i hung out with his son. he had let me look through his CD collection and after pointing out Gang Starr he insisted I took Chapter 2 World Domination home and listened to it. this was probably 2006? Stay Fly had def been a part of my life and a song I had loved but this was my first delve into Memphis shit and i've been heavy into it since then. I ripped the CD onto my computer and put it into my iPod mini and it stayed in rotation until that thing was stolen by a kid in high school. fuck you Hayden, you deserved to get knocked out by Kapri. we both know you didn't have Rhyme Asylum and Kano albums on your PS3 you fucking liar. i hope life sucks for you, dickhead. anyway..

in the late 00's i spent a fuck ton of time online. my parents got me my own computer for christmas 2005 so from that point forward i became a terminally online degenerate. even when i was excluded in real life i found community on habbo hotel. the UK one, specifically. that matters because my friend Declan actually flew to the US to visit me and my brother for a few weeks. due to my addiction to surfing on CS:S, i ended up in Summer School and not able to spend as much time hanging as I'd like. as consolation, Dec would lend me his fuckhuge iPod full of shit I had never heard before. middle school was my backpack rap awakening so I naturally gravitated to the Hip Hop tab and this song was in there. obviously this is Grime, but I didn't realize that for a few years until I got into Tempa T and the rest of BBK in High School.
