.....and..... For the first time ever, I.... Blew chunks.
Aghhhhhh!!! We did a lot of... Spinning. Sworling and turning and it got to me. I've never gotten this motion sick before. But we did a lot of maneuvers today.
We did this one turn, which my instructor said has actually been used as a combat maneuver to avoid enemy fire. MAN. IT WAS FUN! But boy did my stomach not like it.... It was essentially a really steep swerve turn sort of thing, felt like being on a roller coaster.
Aside from that, more hover training, which I epicly failed at. Hovering is hard, man! But despite me having to literally run out of the helicopter to uh, not damage the interior, I had tons of fun and really enjoyed my lesson a lot!
It just feels so good to be up there. And this instructor is cool. On Monday I have another lesson, for the plane. I'm so excited for it!

that's so gross lol, but still sounds super cool! I've always wanted to learn how to fly a plane/helicopter...

Oh man, yeah! It is TONS of fun! I would highly recommend getting into flight school, nothing conpares to the freedom and excitement of being up there in the air. It's definitely a lot to learn, but you'll absorb it quickly if you're passionate about it. Money's probably the only concern since many flight schools don't take the typical financial aid that college does. But it is still 100% worth it for the experience.
I've only flown a helicopter twice; I'm mainly learning to fly planes, but I want to get dual-rated. Helicopters are a lot more expensive to fly though, so if you did wanna get into flight school, it's a good idea to practice planes first, since a lot of stuff is the same (radio comms, airspace rules, instrumentation, the overall sensation of flight) but helicopter controls are waaaay different from a plane's.
In a plane, you can manhandle the control yoke a bit before setting it into place and letting go of it for a few minutes.... In a helicopter, you do much as sneeze and the jolt of doing so will make the entire thing just spiral out of control. Haha!

Well hey, I've got good news for you. Even if you can't afford classes, you can still take a discovery flight. They're anywhere from $100 - $300 just depending on the aircraft and where you go (some are local, some go to coastlines and stuff). These are one-time flights you can take if you've never flown before, and a lot of people go on them just for fun, including little kids! It's worth doing at some point as a little splurge. Flight schools will offer them, you don't have to sign up as a student to do them!
