FINALLY we're going to risa!! i like seeing everyone out of uniform. phlox is going tf to SLEEP, love that for him. the building archer's staying in has something of an art deco slay. very VERY funny of t'pol to leave him the teachings of surak with the note "to help you relax" was she genuinely trying to be nice? was she just messing with him? we may never know
the real love interest b plot is not between archer and the trill(?) woman but between porthos and that little rat dog
having trip and malcolm tell the plot of shuttlepod one as a ~wacky story~ to a pair of risian hookers is... a choice. everything about the nightclub scenes is. a choice. cut back to hoshi i want to see what hoshi's doing. or travis for that matter, we haven't seen him since we got off the shuttle.
oh never mind they're being robbed. Alright. "you were willing to follow two strange aliens into a basement!" "gorgeous aliens! don't forget they were gorgeous!" "they were male!" "not at first!" Yep. that's dialogue alright. for sure.
i do appreciate the franchise wide running gag of having characters eat regular ass produce and pretend it's some wacky alien plant. "we don't have a word for this" hoshi says as she holds up a regular ass strawberry
trip and malcolm are tied up in a basement, travis is in anaphylactic shock, and archer's just been poisoned by a tandoran agent. absolutely nobody is having a good time. i don't think the rest of the crew is gonna want to cash in their shore leave. at lease hoshi had fun she deserves it

i wish we’d seen more of the.. mechanics of risa. it looks like their climate control system was in place at this point. who built it, what does their government look like, how has becoming a pleasure planet impacted the risian people, etc. i know risa mostly exists as a plot device but it has potential that i would want explored. it’s very on brand for enterprise to just spend the risa episode showing how much sex the characters are having (or trying to have) but there’s so much else that could have been done
