Chapter 2 of The Morning Sun

Chapter 2

(The terrifying creatures memory from chapt 1 that killed Narnias family, like, is a snippet lol, SMTH like that, I didn’t really edit it so idk if there’s mistakes)

“Good morning ms Desdemona!” a cheerful boy said to me whilst running by, grinning from ear to ear.

I smiled,

“Watch where you're going”,

God let me live another day once again, which I am forever grateful for. The birds are chirping more today, and the sun is shining brighter than yesterday. This truly is a blessed day, I thought to myself as I inhaled the fresh morning air.

I trailed along the sidewalk, as I admired the church that could be seen in the distance. The back faced towards me, It’s beautiful stained glass of God with many reflecting colors shining on the green earth, and the angels that were beside him made me feel ecstatic.

Art is truly wonderful when it depicts your savior, I thought to myself as I turned my gaze.

Then, I saw a couple of young girls who come to church every Sunday run towards me urgently, they had a frightening worried look painted on their faces.

“Oh desdemona, we finally found you” one girl said who was in the middle, out of breath, as she anxiously twirled a strand of her auburn hair.

“Oh ‘mona, there’s a bunch of lunatics that lost their way outside of church”, the second girl angrily said, as she pointed towards the unfaithful crowd who were throwing eggs and animal carcasses on the entrance.

Gently sighing to myself, i felt a sudden rush of sadness for the souls in the crowd who feel hatred towards the divine lord,

“Thankyou for letting me know girls, i will address the situation shortly”, i put on a friendly smile once again, “Now hurry along, don't want to be late for choir”,

The girls nodded and walked to choir with cheerful steps,

But I walked the opposite direction, towards the crowd outside of the church.

They were mostly old men with alcohol in hand, trying to grope the woman that was on duty outside, watering the hydrangeas around the entrance. And the rest were mid aged men, guilty of throwing the eggs and animal carcasses.

“Oi get off me you dirty devil”, one of the women screamed, pushing their hands away as the watering can that was in her hand fell to the floor, spilling water everywhere.

The man chuckled, and took another gulp of his booze as he tapped on the others shoulders to humiliate the woman. Pointed fingers and laughter went towards the girl, she looked away in shame, giving up the fight. Wondering if they would still bother her in such a manner if she was unattractive.

“What is happening here?” I spoke, with a hostile voice.

“These men kept disturbing me whilst I was watering the hydrangeas!”,

I eyed the men, who still looked cocky and confident, spitting at the ground and reciting offensive passages towards the lord. Anger began to rise inside of me, I wondered how they managed to have the audacity to slander the divine creator that gave them life. They should be kissing the ground with utter devotion to God, but instead they chose this disgraceful path.

“Sister Thea, please excuse yourself, I will deal with them”, I uttered in a low tone, urging her absence.

Thea nodded quickly, picking up her watering can, hurrying her way up the steps and closing the church door behind her.

I closed my eyes for a moment, composing myself for the mayhem I was soon going to cause. Strings formed inside of my mind, scattering everywhere with high volumes, making my ears ring. It was almost as if they were alive, as I heard multiple heartbeats inside my own vessel as they merged. They began to travel towards my stomach, in great synchrony and precisement. The strings then bundled up, causing my stomach to open, showing void. Nothingness.

The men then began to cower in fear, wondering what they were witnessing. They began to scatter, with screams I could hear, but not screams that others could. Though they tried to flee, my strings were quicker. They consumed each and every one of the sinners, wrapping themselves around the

victim, turning them molten, into dust. Nothingness.

Not one escaped, and not one survived.

I sighed to myself, knowing that if they were faithful, they wouldn’t have to face this fate. But alas, fate will always manage to intertwine itself into your life, no matter what you do or where you go.

“I heard some banging outside, are you okay mona?” Thea said, peeping out of the church door.

“Yes, I am, the crowd just rushed away that’s all”,

I made my way up the steps, opening the left door beside her. She looked at me with a confused expression, but said nothing.

“You can get back to watering your hydrangeas now, Thea, I will get ready for today's sermon” I put my hand on her golden blonde hair, as i stared into her blue eyes which was the color of the sky. I saw her as my own daughter. She was a blessing, with a golden heart I tried to nurture.

“Right”,

I placed my Holy Bible on the lectern, which was a light wooden color that had a red piece of cloth in the middle to rest the Bible.

“Gather up everyone”, I vocalized, so everyone would hear. They sat patiently in the rows, with their hands neatly on their laps.

“Ahem,” I began , “an eye for an eye? people say, and so the Bible says. But, can violence ever be justified? Can it be justified if someone treated you poorly, and you want to get them back? Can it be justified if someone decides you’re their puppet, because you pose a threat that could potentially ruin their reputation, and therefore you want to get them…” as I began to finish that sentence, I fell to the floor, clutching my head which was pounding rapidly, causing me excruciating pain.

“Urgh..”

Everyone stared, with shocked gazes. Some stood up immediately, but we’re too scared to come closer. All they could do was watch, no matter how concerned they were.

Flashes of a frightening creature, with red molten skin, came into my mind. I tried to shake my head to get the images away, but it didn’t work. I was forced to look at this hideous creature, who I then noticed had its finger up to its unclear lips, as if to silence me.

The strings inside of me began to go wild, stretching out throughout multiple parts of my body in immense magnitude. I tried to call them back to my consciousness, but that made my headache worse, so I stopped trying, and gave in.

Everything then came to a halt.
