I have coffee with lunch now, it just became a thing this week. It's cheaper than regular lunch and dulls my appetite until dinner, not a healthy thing to do but I don't really care. Coffee's for closers, so I'll try to do that. Later in the afternoon I have an interview so I hope that goes well, and that the caffeine will help. It's anxious to think about it, but I'll take my time to calm down, my mind's been racing since last month. I read a comment that said the more you try to ignore intrusive and anxious thoughts the more it will haunt you, and that to get rid of it you think about other things, positive or neutral. It's good advice and I'm working on actively doing that.
There is a wellness fair going on at college now, and the vendors are pretty varied I guess? There's a free health checkup, eye tests, healthy foods stalls and other stuff like that. A crafts stall was tucked away in a corner and offered tufting, the new trendy thing to do I guess. It's like knitting but with a machine gun, so that's appealing for some. I got my eyes checked out and they're fine, when I put my head in the machine I had to open my eyes more because my eyelashes were blocking the scanner.
The stall beside it was offering live oysters, my friend really wanted to try it but it was too expensive. I've never eaten raw oysters before and don't look forward to, it grosses me out a bit. I wanted to do the health checkup but there was a long line, plus they took your weight and BMI and I didn't really want other people knowing that. I have a normal BMI but I'm still embarrassed about it, it's hard to not be self conscious.
Classes were short, and I didn't really concentrate on what was going on but was still able to answer some questions. I'm trying to improve my posture but the chairs at college make it impossible; those Nordic style chairs are pretty to look at but the ergonomics are terrible. After visiting the fair me and some friends went our separate ways, even at the fair they weren't interested in the stalls and left after 10 minutes, which was a bit sad. But it's fine, I'll do my own thing.
Listening to Fado now, I discovered it last April-May and it's been one of my favourite genres to listen to, though listening it for too long you'll also succumb to the Portuguese melancholy and saudade. A Portuguese blog posted something about Fado Toninho and that was pretty much my gateway to Fado and Neo-Fado. Fado Toninho now has a solid place in my favourite songs list, it just sounds comforting and right to me. It's a shame that the band is on an indefinite hiatus, but their solo projects are nice too.
I've started taking supplements and vitamins, mainly fish oil, primrose and magnesium. I read up on them helping a bit in anxiety and skin problems, so I'll give them a shot and see if there's any improvement. I went to an esthetician earlier this month and she said my skin was really dehydrated, so that's why it looks dull and acne ridden.
I've started focusing more in hydration in my skincare routine and I think I'm seeing some improvements; not a big fan of the skin purging though, I'm using a glycolic acid toner now and it's been purging all the gunk from my face. They say purging usually lasts a month so I hope my skin will look better then; whiteheads and pustules pop up overnight without warning but thankfully go away without scarring in a few days, so that's a nice indicator that it's purging and not breakouts.
On skincare, I'm using sunscreen and lotion now. The sunscreen I'm using is mineral but doesn't leave a white cast, so that's nice. There's a day and nigh lotion; the day lotion has SPF 30 and the night one is just a moisturizing one. I've never really thought of lotions but after showering I would always feel that my skin was dry, so since there was a lotion sale I bought a few to try out, using them right after showering. My arms are sun damaged and have some unevenness so I hope it'll correct that.
I'm looking to buy leg warmers, they hurt a bit after waking up and the weather's been on the colder side. My knee and leg pains from last year haven't healed yet so I should probably protect them more. Plus warmers look cute. That was a lot, but whatever, it's nice to write your thoughts down when you don't have anyone to talk to, comforting too. See ya

I sometimes use coffee as a bit of a appetite suppressant too, but if you don't eat anything with it, the caffeine can definitely make you more jittery. Hope your interview went well!
I hadn't heard of primrose supplements before, was honestly a tad suspicious so I looked it up and they are not supported by research as treatment for any condition, and even if the fatty acids in them can work, I think they might be a little redundant given the fish oil supplements. If your knee and leg pains are joint based, the magnesium definitely can help! For skin I would more recommend a hair, skin & nails supplement, those usually include collagen and biotin, which will keep everything healthy. I actually occasionally put Vital Proteins collagen powder in my coffee, and despite being flavorless, it makes a difference!
When I was having really bad ankle pain, I used a heating pad when I got home to relax the muscles; generically I have weak joints so when my muscles get tight, it stresses them really bad, can even pull them apart if it gets too bad. Never tried leg warmers though!

Thank you for your comment! Yeah my caffeine jitters have gotten worse with age, so I try to eat a little meal with it or drink less. I've found that adding a little cream without sugar to the mix doesn't make me jittery, so that's a combo I'll be sticking to instead of my typical black. The interview went good!
Funny that you mention biotin, I've actually tried it before and had a negative reaction to it so I'm trying out primrose instead. I have considered hair, skin and nail supplements but they can be quite expensive in my area, but I'll try it out when I find a biotin-free one at a reasonable price! Interesting! I've never heard of collagen powder, most collagen products here are liquid or pilled. I'll look into adding collagen to my routine, thank you for the recommendation!
You could give leg warmers a shot; one that fits snug and is reasonably thick can help keep your leg joints warm, my friend swears by them when she slept without decent heating in winter. Was your heating pad electrical or water-based? I have a hot water pad and mostly using to alleviate cramps, I'll try it for my knees.

Oh no! I'd never heard of biotin causing negative reactions, that's rough especially since the hair, skin, and nail supplements tend to have it. But definitely a good alternative is the collagen powder. My mom swore by it, and I ended up trying it out when, coincidentally, I got some free samples at my college's wellness fair! It dissolves better in warm drinks, and coffee seems to mask any residual taste, so that's often the combo I go with.
My heating pad was electric but I think it likely would work the same with a water-based one as long as it can be wrapped onto your leg.

That reminds me! The wellness fair yesterday had a coffee booth and they offered premixed coffee with collagen in it, I didn't know until my friend mentioned it today. What a coincidence! I looked into some collagen powder available here and they recommend to dissolve in cold water, but when I try it out I'll try it with my coffee!
