TMS Therapy

This is just a short blog entry sort of as a test entry and also as a "this is what's happening in my life soon" entry.

So, next week I will be starting with TMS treatment for my treatment resistant Major Depressive Disorder. For anyone not familiar with this treatment, it is transcranial magnetic stimulation. What that means is I will have a magnetic device placed against my head and they will non-invasively send a magnetic pulse the same strength as an MRI into my brain! :D

The purpose of this is to stimulate re-growth of the neurons to try and bridge the damaged parts of my brain to help decrease the depression. My doctor was very honest and stated that the likelihood of full recovery is low, given the severity of my depression; however, I can safely expect my desire to end my own existence on Earth to drastically reduce if not go away completely. 

My intention over the next 9 weeks is to try to update this blog with the results as I go through treatment so I can see what kind of progress there is. Hopefully, this will also help someone else who might be going through, or thinking about going through this treatment as well.
