Letting my hair down (literally and figuratively)

Transparent Teal Star

Just finished college classes and currently chilling in the library, I plan to sort out my schedules and give my life some order. I have a few assignments due next month and I don't want to rush through them a few days before the due date with racing thoughts and hours slept countable on one hand. Today's class was more of a refresher to me than a learning lecture, I had studied the topic before and it was quite embarrassing to forget a lot of it, in my defense it's been 2 years since I touched the topic.

On the topic of my hair, I recently just got it cut after a year! It feels so much lighter now and the hairdresser really help me figure out what to do with my unruly thick hair. My hair used to feel like a burden and I would never let it down because a) I looked like the girl from The Ring and b) It would feel like an oven for my neck, now I'm trying to let it loose to get use to the feeling, it's been great. It has layers now, very exciting. I have my sister to thank for this, she took me to her hairdresser and left behind the one I've been going to for ~15 years now, less stuffy and past bad memories from there shall not haunt me no more.

I found spacehey by chance, after going through some guys links and one was labeled 'myspace', which at first I thought it was cute that someone was still using it, then I discovered it linked here and the site's existed for 3 years now. I was too young to remember the myspace and blogspot days (blogspot was for essay tips and skincare reviews to a high school me), but felt some phantom nostalgia for it, so I thought "why not?". I'll just create a page and see where it goes. Blogging or journaling has always been an interest that piqued me, and it has been recommended to be countless times by counsellors and wellbeing pages alike, but every time I've put my pen down and try, it always goes nowhere after a week. Let's see if this spacehey endeavor will lead to anything.

I'll try not to force myself to hit a daily target of writing like my previous attempts, I'll just write when I feel like it. Maybe I'll make friends or have connections, or not. Either way I want to learn how to express myself more, and be more out there, y'know?

A few months ago I ripped some of my dad's CDs into my laptop, and I'm currently listening to one called Absolute Alternative 10, it's great! My favourite tracks from it is back-to-back, with One Week from Barenaked Ladies and Celebrity Skin from Hole. The first song gives me pleasant memories, since I first heard it in Digimon: The Movie; that movie really was my first introduction to 90s and 00s alt/pop punk music, and I look back at it fondly.

I think that's it for all, I'm reading a Nat Geo article on colon cancer now, and later I'll organize and research some stuff. See ya
