Cowgirl Clue 2023

Cowgirl Clue @ the Masq was fantastic!! it was my first time seeing cowgirl clue but it was my second time for both openers, kumo 99 and lustsickpuppy! 

i had never been to purgatory at the masquerade before saturday and i think it might be my new favorite part of the building! obv underground is a lot closer to my heart but purgatory was much more intimate than either heaven or hell, which are significantly bigger. i love smaller venues! there was also more seating, which was closer to the stage than other parts of the masq, and the lighting was less harsh to me.

the first time i saw kumo 99 they were opening for the garden and i was late, so i only caught the last few songs of their set. i loved what i did hear so much that i bought a patch from them and got a photo with them too! it was great to be there for the whole performance this time! they had so much energy and sounded great! i was in the pit for four point steel star, and no one including me knew japanese, so we just shouted general nonsense syllables along with the words and it was great. i also got to meet them again (pics below!)

lustsickpuppy brought their typical insane energy and i loved every second. i was in the second row and i think they might have seen my makeup which was inspired by theirs! they did some newer songs which was so exciting to finally hear live. i got so crazy close to them! (more pics below!)

unfortunately cowgirl clue's mic was not working for the majority of her set. this is not to say it was a bad show! ashley was a wonderful performer regardless! i could tell she was still singing with everything she had, even though she knew we couldn't hear her. she was dancing and kept my attention for most of the show! it was great to hear the crowd singing icebreaker with her.
