[Note] Basics of Energy Transfer

Energy is never created or destroyed, only transferred.

Energy Stores:
Thermal energy (heat)
Kinetic Energy (movement or motion)
Gravitational Potential Energy (position in a gravitational field)
Elastic Energy (Ex, energy stored in a stretched rubber band)
Chemical Energy (Held in chemical bonds)
Magnetic Energy (What hold magnet)
Electrostatic (Static and Electric shock)
Nuclear (Breaking atoms)

These can be transfered from one to another,
Transfers:
Mechanical (stretching an elastic band)
Electrically (Sending an electric charge)
Heating (S/E)
Radiation (light or sound waves for example)

System: a Collection of objects

When a system changes, energy is transferred between objects or forms.
The objects within our system can exchange with the "outside world", or the matter outside the system.
An Open System, can lose or gain energy to the outside world.
a Closed System doesnt allow outside matter or energy in.

Work Done:
Meaning energy has transferred.
2 types:
Mechanical: Using a force to move an object
Electrical: when current flows
