With the rise of what I'm going to call the "new old web," I feel we should fully embrace it! With Neocities, SpaceHey, and RetroZilla (it's a web browser for old OSes), I feel we should try our best to go full hog on this and allow something that I dont fully know will work, but it's something that i think will be interesting. Here we go.
-A web proxy that allows for someone to go onto YouTube and in a way reskin it to look like it did in, let's say for example, 2008. I'd originally say a whole new video hosting service dedicated to those whom are part of the "new old web" but i imagine it'll get abused easily. That and it'll probably be expensive as all hell to keep up so maybe the proxy will have to do.
-Either more people on the chatrooms, or if possible something like MSN messenger or AIM that would be popular enough and also still function on a mid to late 2000s PC. Either that or we all move to IRC but that doesn't sound as fun :P
-Maybe one day a convention dedicated to early Web 2.0 (Giving cred to Clowie for coming up with this one)
If we can pull this off, we might be able to have what I'll call one of the largest and most fascinating internet counterculture movements in a hot minute. I'm extremely eager to hear any thoughts and suggestions and as much as I'd love to contribute, I don't know squat about coding so I won't be able to assist, I just want to get the ball rolling.
Something interesting I feel should at least be attempted (I'm not lazy, just stupid)
