just rambling about my top 5 shows :D

recently (as in just yesterday lol) my top 5 tv shows changed. all this thinking about tv made me remember that i dont need more of a reason for a blog post than "i would like to have a long-winded ramble sesh and post it"

so hey! take this thing abt the shows i like the most in descending order!

i have to make this one as short as possible because i promise you, i could talk about this show for the length of multiple days.

mr robot is the greatest piece of media ive ever consumed and im not kidding or exaggerating.

its kinda hard to talk about without ruining it, lucky you, you wont have to read 8000 words of me talking abt this.

to avoid spoilers or anything ill say

mr robot completely changed my life. i watched it during my worst depressive episode ever and sure, it didnt like, fix the issue but it made it much more bearable. when i finished it for the first time, i started from the beginning right away. when the show actually ended i cried so hard people were checking in on me lol

dont let that make you think the shows entire message is sad, its actually a very optimistic show. elliots main motivation is to save the world. more than anything, he wants this world to be kind for the sake of his loved ones.

elliot doesnt believe he deserves good things and sees himself as a disposable stepping stone to the world being better. he isnt included in the benefits his own revolution in his mind but he keeps getting dragged into it.

he keeps being faced with reminders that people love him and that hes not just some nameless hero, undeserving of credit. he hates that everyone loves him so much but it doesnt stop them! IT DOESNT STOP THEM!!!! WAAAAAAGHHHH!!!! HE WANTS TO SAVE THE WORLD BECAUSE HE LOVES HIS BEST FRIEND AND MISSES HIS DAD!!!!!!

please watch mr robot (i will say tho...trigger warning for every possible thing youd need a trigger warning for. this show is fucked up)

we got any dramatic irony enjoyers in the building tonight? well you should watch twin peaks then.

still havent watched the return for some. hard to explain reasons BUT!!! STILL!!

first off dale cooper is my favorite fictional character ever (im sorry elliot) and hes everything. EVERYTHING!!

twin peaks fits just about all of my favorite niches like its almost scary. weird towns? check. an inescapable tragedy? check. ptsd related storylines? CHEEEECK. theres no saving the person who is begging to be saved? check. anti-cop? check. FALL AESTHETICS??? CHECK!!!

like my god. this show. it makes me so unreasonably sad. i dont think a fictional character has ever made me sad the same way as laura palmer. the show hinges on the fact that she was murdered and yet shes still so alive in a way she never was when she was actually breathing. shes nothing but a memory and an inaccurate one. the one person who wanted to help her was too late. laura was never going to live, if anything she never lived in the first place.

bro this show is deceptive as hell. you go in like "hehe time for a silly comedy-heavy dramedy!!" and by season 3 youre like shitting yourself cuz youre crying so hard. thats what makes it so good but jesus.

i love characters who are trying SO hard to be good but are just destined to be bad. barry is spending this entire show convincing himself he doesnt have to kill, that he can be an actor and hes Wrong. hes a terrible actor and an incredible murderer.

ik its fucked up (and its probably due to my own experiences) but i love irredeemably fucked up characters. theres lines i draw (depiction of sexual assault or domestic violence is almost always too far) but i enjoy me a good fucked up scene with a character thats so far gone they dont even realize how bad they've become.

thats like, 30 barry scenes.

this man is doomed by the narrative to kill and abuse but hes doing it in a way where its like hes in the trunk of the car instead of the drivers seat.

i also like exploring dynamics involving people who have been groomed into their own evil ways. barry was plucked right out of war and then had his ptsd nurtured into useful bloodlust. there was a point where he had a chance but he was gone before the show started.

theres a universe where barry got out of the marines and adjusted to normal life but its a universe where fuches doesnt exist.

dude i really like dramatic irony.

listen. LISTEN. this is so much better than breaking bad its not even funny. breaking bad doesnt even come close to being in my top 5 (probably. i dont go much past 5)

do you know how MUCH i love inevitable tragedy?? reading this post you probably think you do but YOU STILL DONT KNOW THE SCOPE!!!!

kim and jimmy make me see jesus whenever they do anything i swear. theyre so CUTE!! and FUCKED UP!!!

everything these characters do is fucking deranged and thats why theyre all so perfect for each other. excluding nacho he needs to get the hell out of there.

its kinda hard to talk abt this without getting into breaking bad too. or spoilers. i just think you should all know that this show is so symbolism heavy that jimmy drinking his own piss represents something

this is what took successions number 5 spot! sorry to succession, still love you lots this is not a slight on your honor <3 i just love dystopian stories with little weirdos and identity issues <3 im a blade runner 2049 fan what can i say

now...i literally watched this only a little more than 24 hours ago but my god. MY GOD!! this is incredible! so many turns youll never see coming unless youre taking note of fucking EVERYTHING.

on premise alone, this show is Out There. the invisible battle between innies and outies, the fact that though innies are trying to help outies, their push is just a pull for outies.

MARK SCOUT AS A CHARACTER....LIKE MARK SCOUT....THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY I LOVE HIM!!!!

such an incredible score on this bad boy too. tbh i cant talk abt this one much because its very....well the mystery is the fun part but i cant recommend this enough.

im autistic could you tell. watch all these shows its good for you.
