Hey all
For many years I have been showing signs of a autoimmune condition called Psoriasis, through the years I have been dealing with silvery patches, dry and severely cracked skin on my feet, near my groin, etc. I have fought for many years to get a proper diagnosis but I always ended up being gaslit, misdiagnosed, or told it’s all in my head by medical professionals. The fucked up part is I ended up with an infection on one of my feet and at 25 years old I finally got the proper diagnosis I have been fighting for.
The journey to recovery has been absolute hell, recently I fought with my health insurance company just to get my medication for the condition. My health insurance changed their minds about covering it after they kept denying to cover the medication I’m on. They changed their minds because they found out I work in healthcare.
I have made a lot of changes in my diet, etc. so far the medication and the changes in my life have been a huge help. I’m on leave from work until I can get my symptoms under control.
My counselor and psychiatrist tell me that writing everything down is therapeutic, I do find writing this down to be comforting.
Have a nice day
