"On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today.
Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day."

oh. my. god. this book was absolutely heart-wrenching. i knew from the beginning that they would both die, but i had hope that they wouldn't. i had so much hope.
i liked how the perspective changed every other chapter, not just between the protagonists, but also side characters do you could see what life was like for other people. it was also really interesting how it had ZERO plot twists whatsoever, but still remained entertaining and sad af.
anyways, the entire book feels like a wattpad fluff, but it's slowburn, and when they finally kiss... best feeling ever. i literally screamed out of joy when it happened. but fr tho, why did it take mateo and rufus so long to make a move on each other??? also what kind of name is rufus bro 💀
also, IT WAS SO SAD. my guy just wanted to make tea...
"i crossed the street without an arm to hold me back." 😭😭😭
my star rating: ★★★★★ (5/5 stars)
----- side notes -----
☆ i REALLY want to buy my own copy of this book, it was so sad
