today issue 1

idk i think it might be cool to do mini journal posts chronicling parts of my day so this is the first one

i won't do this every day but if i have something interesting to say i might write one so here's the first edition

today was a day of learning, i tried a lot of stuff and i don't have fruits of labour yet but i'm well on my way

especially with music. today is the first "tunesday". every tuesday im gonna force myself to try and do shit in a daw for at least 5 minutes. i decided the 2 projects ive been working on might be too much for me to chew off atm, so i started a new one i think might be more simple - taking a pre-existing song and messing with it a bit, with effects and drums and stuff. yknow, basic soundcloud remix type stuff.

i took a song (i won't say what one, it'll be a surprise for if i ever finish this) and sped it up and i selected a drum track. the drums don't match quite yet and i called it a day. it doesn't sound like a lot but when you consider the playing around i did and how i had to pick a song and stuff, its sizeable

i feel like we, or at least i, really underestimate both how time works and how fruitful our use of said time is. a less learned me would beat myself up for how long it took but as i said ive learnt time passes faster than you think when it comes to certain things. and in terms of fruit of my labour, as i said, yeah, im nowhere near even starting this song, but this is the foundation i'm going to build off of
