somewhere between now and then i went from "omg hes so cool i hope he wants to be my friend" to "omg hes so cool im so glad hes my best friend", from being alone to never having to be alone again, from being a scared little boy who always kept his mouth shut to being brave enough to stand up for himself and others, from wishing i had a friendship where we matched everything and knew we were cooler than everyone else to having a friendship where we matched everything and know we're cooler than everyone else, from having no reason to laugh to having no reason not to, from masking my autism and adhd to just being who i am and not taking shit from anyone else for it. somewhere between now and then, i found my forever best friend. somewhere between now and then, i found home. i love you, rui. always and forever. happy one year of best friendship <3
