hey! first blog post, i was agonizing over what i was going to use this space for when i realized i didn't have to choose or do everything at once! whatever i think about the most that day, i can post about! kind of a no brainer yeah but i've got a rotten brain, takes me a second to reach those kinda conclusions.
so today's topic is... devlog! im going to college for game design, and in one of my classes i've been building a little game from the ground up in unreal engine 5 which is... hard and easy at the same time? i've never really messed around in it much before this class and we've kinda been dropped in head first LOL 6w9 i dont mind it though! i'm real happy with how its been turning out
i got to work on storyboarding some of the cinematics for the game, since the overview cinematic is due tomorrow night and all. i decided to do that instead of jumping in head first since i spent a whole lotta time yesterday doing a lot of big changes to the levels and the visual design... cant be firing off on all cylinders all the time!
anyways, here's a quick screenie of what it's looking like! its gonna be a 2d & 3d blend and i looove the crustiness of the 2d sprites with the early playstation-y effect i've got going on.

will this game be the best? probably not! but it's been fun to make, and i'm sure it'll look great in my collection as a big old learning experience!
should i do a post giving more details about the game im making? or maybe what ive been doing overall in gamedev classes? or maybe just leave it alone until the games done and come back with a big letsplay of it LOL... who knows!
thats enough rambling from me for now, i've got dishes to do and dinner to eat. and now i've got a question if you've got answers: whats something you've all wanted to dabble in but found wayyy too big to even begin getting into?
