I'm going to kill myself (not the way you think)

Sports! Something that I didn't generally care about. Until now. Being surrounded by people who play super cool sports and are always like "Oh, yeah, I got practice today!" or "I got a super intense competition after school!"

(Oh my god there was something really gross on my face and it just shook me to my core)

after a while, started to make me wonder. Am I really as active as I like to say I am?

At school. Lunch. There's an old dude that looks like he can barely walk. Let alone advertise whatever sport he's advertising. Oh. He's promoting tennis. What's tennis again? It's like volleyball but with sticks, right?

I asked my friends "Haha should I do tennis?" "Idk if you really want to ig"

Bam. Get your physical and be here on Thursday at so and so courts.

(I never got my physical but ig that was alr somehow)

First year, and I immediately became 1st player, absolutely dominating against the other schools. (Except that one 4th grader but we don't talk about that)

And I'm still doing tennis to this day.

"Huh. I don't know how to fight. What if someone wants to start beef with me?"

"Oh, my cousin does some sort of fighting class rn I wonder how that is."

"Eh. Kickboxing looks cool."

Telemona: Literally mentions kickboxing one time as a small interest.

"OKAY. I signed us both up for a free 1st class on Tuesday!"

Anyway, today's Wednesday. So here is my first impression of kickboxing.

I've never been punched or kicked so it was pretty different. I generally am not a reckless teen who's broken their bones or had to go to the hospital so I have to say I was out of my element.

Sure I've wrestled with my friends and cousins but getting kicked repeatedly kinda builds up.

(Also the coach showed me how to kick by kicking me and I was startled)

But today I'm getting the gloves, shin guards, and mouth guards. Yep. Didn't even know kickboxing was a sport a few months ago, watched a kickboxing match video a week ago, and now I'm totally gonna kick ass.

My main reasons for joining it are because it's a good workout, and because I dunno how to fight. It's not like my dad was a super well known boxer who got knocked into a coma during his final world championship match, then told me that his dying wish was for me to beat the very man that did this to him, and am now building my way up through the rankings, avenging my dads will.

But that's what it felt like tbh. (Not too far off cause my Dad is still in the hospital and I got really anxious there but that's for the next blog.)

Going back to the title, am I going to kill myslef? Probably. Because my skinny frail noodle arm chicken leg teen boy body is weak as hell and having went on a run two days before my first practice, running around all over the tennis courts for hours, walking everywhere, and getting kicked in the legs repeatedly, I feel like my body is gonna just straight up shut down on me.

(I'm really over exaggerating this knowing damn well that I feel fine rn but it makes for a really good title)

But I just wanted to say that I'm really excited to be participating in 2 sports, having never being interested in physical activity, and working towards a better and stronger me. Even if it means having to spar against a random guy in a sweaty gym, without knowing anything about fighting or tolerance.

But today's blogs are gonna be a bit more upbeat, so until next time, my children.

(yes ik that's creepy as hell)

(Also the girl behind me was banging her desk which made my desk move and I was getting super mad while writing this.)

(Also also, I just wanted to do an also also like a p.s. p.s.)
