Weird unused 8-bit chiptune track from the Radiohead Kid A Exhibition game that came out a while ago

So if you've had the displeasure of listening to me ramble on about my special interests, you'd know I'm quite the connoisseur when it comes to unreleased music and cut content from video games. This one manages to come at the intersection of the two.

This is a frankly bizarre 8-bit chiptune rendition of the song Optimistic from the album Kid A, found unused in the game files for the official Kid A Mnesia Exhibition game that came out at the end of 2021 in celebration of the 20th anniversary release of the Kid A and Amnesiac albums. It's bizarre because this is not the kind of thing you'd expect coming from Radiohead as far as unreleased or unused material goes. I had thought when there were a few people initially datamining the game that this track was a hoax. I couldn't find it when I was looking through the game files and I thought there was no way that this would be official Radiohead content. I was uploading another unused track from the game when I went back to an old community doc that a couple of people were using to annotate and label their finds. Lo and behold, it turns out they did end up finding it. It's 100% real. I'm way pleasantly surprised. Check it out!

There's a whole bunch of other interesting unused audio in this game if you're a fanatic about Radiohead like me. I'll continue to upload some stuff this week. I put a slightly bigger related project on hold to go through this material again, but afterwards I'll get back to it.
