Testing This Out

Is this how you do this? I haven't thought about having an actual blog blog in years. Probably since MySpace was actually still around and somewhat living, as opposed to whatever shambling corpse remains these days.

I guess I just write when I have something to say? If that's the case, this will be brief. I haven't done so much today yet. I was up late last night reading and had to get up at 6 in the morning to go birding with my class. It wasn't so eventful, but we hiked around through the woods near our school. The best finds were some downy woodpeckers and brown creepers-- and those were hard to see, let me tell you. Our TA read a description of brown creepers that they "look like little pieces of bark defying gravity and climbing up the tree, and when they fly they look like brown leaves falling through the air." Well, that's pretty true. So far away, sometimes they look like brown smudges moving around more than anything else. I'm better at sound ID than anything else at this point, I think-- and I hate even trying to identify sparrows. They all look the same...

Now I'm just sitting at work. No one's coming in right now (knock on wood) but apparently I've got one of my regulars coming in for an online appointment later. C'est la vie.
