Nintendo DS...

I know the Nintendo shop themes are a big source of nostalgia for everyone, but it just hit me hard tonight!

it reminded me of my first actual vacation, and it was a very small Pocchi!!

i don't remember a lot, except everything felt so new and big... it was to New York City, and we went to visit my mom's family. we stayed in a penthouse the trip, and i remember one night she told me she would introduce me to a cousin my age I'd never seen before... i was kind of confused, though!? I've never met this person before... (ᓀ ᓀ)

so, that night, I went on my DSi, drew some Flipnote, then went to PictoChat...

but...

WHAT??! Σ(°ロ°)

There was someone there!!

so I drew greetings,

and they drew it back..

and we drew back and forth, dogs and animals and i remember Hello Kitty, until it was time for me to go to bed. but I was so happy!! PictoChat never worked, but now there's a mysterious new friend on my DSi...

The next day, we went to go meet our family, and I met that cousin from before! we were both really shy... BUT!! I noticed a DS case, and I couldn't shut up since I had one too!! I was bragging a lot, mine came with a DS slot, two pockets for games, a SD card holder, so many hidden compartments... So I showed her my DS, and we realized we talked to each other on PictoChat!! It must have been very exciting for her too, because I never spoke on anyone on PictoChat before that, or ever again!!! The range was SO PATHETIC!!! (ノ_<、) That's why I preferred SpotPass, it was pretty fun. I wish we still did fun things like that...

We played lot of Pokemon together, and spent the whole day with our DSis, making audio messages I probably still have... that night I got to sleep at her apartment in the penthouse, and I sat in bed with her all night and we played a Littlest Pet Shop game, i wish i couldn't remember the name... We were sneaking from our parents to stay up until midnight, it was so exciting!! I thought something incredible would happen once my DSi time switched to 12:00... i really thought it would be my greatest achievement, but we were so proud. （￣︶￣）↗　We became close friends after that for life, we still are!! when we got 3DS, we made Miis together every time we visited, and when the Switch came out we played Mario Kart and Splatoon. (-ω-、)

New York still feels like a fake dream-like city, i remember I went to the park and me and that cousin went to a pizza place, and on my last morning it rained all day, so it felt even more dreamlike. maybe it was just rose-colored lens, but it was really amazing. (≧∀≦)ゞ

Y'know, I miss a lot of things... The Pokemon Wi-Fi festival with all the games and the floats at the end... Check Mii Out channel... SwapNote, maybe it was called... OK, no one ever sent anyone a 3DS note, but it was fun to draw on, and I had a crush on Nikki when I was younger. what ever happened to good ole wholesome fun when the Internet function on games was still new... Bring back good and heartwarming times! I won't get a crush on a Mii this time..(」°ロ°)」
