currently reading: the wild road by gabriel king

gonna post more when i'm reading something so i have thoughts about the things i like sonewhere.

it's an animal xenofiction book (a la warrior cats) about a former house cat named tag who bolts away from his house (very cat of him) and struggles to survive without purpose until another cat gives him a quest to find the king and queen of cats. i'm pretty impressed by the prose, but it is a bit dense and hard to read at times. there are also characters i enjoy, but... the plot is also a bit hard to follow? i enjoy it and want to finish, but it takes time to get into the groove of reading it.

my favorite character so far is sealink, a big, well traveled calico cat who's always insisting on giving the poor little cats they find on their travels a good wash. she's lovely
