Ratings:

Dive - 9/10 pick me anthem, coincidentally Courtney Love called this her favorite Nirvana song… LMAO

Sliver - 5/10 Grandma better take that MF BABY HOME!!!!! (×_×)

Stain - 7/10 apparently the first Nirvana song with a curse word in it??

Been A Son - 5/10

Turnaround - 7/10 this song is about looking at yourself and your surroundings from an outsider's perspective, and as Kurt says, it’s pretty scary. Sometimes absolutely disgusting. I also love when his voice is goofy :3

Molly’s Lips - 5/10 this song is actually a cover of a song by The Vaselines

Son of a Gun - 6/10

(New Wave) Polly - 8/10 I fucking love this songg but I prefer the studio version on Nevermind or the live version from MTV Unplugged faaaar more. This song has an extensive history if you look it up, it’s about the kidnapping of a 14 year old girl that Kurt read about in the news and inspired him to write it. If you want to look into said kidnapping look into “Gerald Friend abduction”

Beeswax - 8/10

Downer - 8/10

Mexican Seafood - 6/10 it hurts…. It hurts when I peee…. (っ´ω`)ノ(╥ω╥)

Hairspray Queen - 9/10 Kurt’s voice here could scratch my back mmmm-mm-mm

Aero Zeppelin - 8/10 I really love this song. It’s about people imitating art to try to get popular instead of having their own original ideas and I think that is prevelent as it was then as it is today. Listen to 90% of female pop artist these days and they’re just imitating Billie Eilish / Olivia Rodrigo.

Big Long Now - 7/10 I am absolutely in love with the guitar and psychedelic sound ლ(`∀´ლ). There are a lot of theories what this song is about.

Aneurysm - 10/10 Probably the most popular song on this album, and for good reason. This song was actually about a woman named Tobi Vail. He liked her so much that she actually made him physically sick. ♡o(╥﹏╥)o ♥♡

Overall Rating: 7/10

[ALBUM COVER]

About The Album:

This album is a compilation of radio performances and unreleased/re-released songs, they basically made it to keep bootleggers from making money off their leaked tracks. The album before this was Nevermind and after is In Utero, yet Incesticide doesn’t seem to be as popular as either. :[ the album contained notes written by Kurt, saying

""If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us—leave us the fuck alone! Don't come to our shows and don't buy our records.""

About The Artist:

Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. Founded by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, high school besties. Their first band, the Sellouts, actually was a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band. *shivers* They went thru MANY drummers before landing on Dave Grohl, who went on to form the amazing band Foo Fighters. They actually had so many band members over the years I am going to include a graph from their wiki.HERE

Nirvana was one of THE best-selling bands of all time, selling more than 75 million records worldwide. During their time, Nirvana received an American Music Award, Brit Award, Grammy Award, seven MTV Video Music Awards and two NME Awards. They had five number-one hits on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and four number-one albums on the Billboard 200. In 2004, Rolling Stone named Nirvana among the 100 greatest artists of all time. They were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility in 2014. I mean if they didn’t deserve it who does? The band disbanded after the extremely tragic “suicide” of Kurt in April of 1994.

My Opinions:

I really enjoy this album. Before this review I only had heard Dive, Polly, and Aneurysm but now I can say I enjoy the whole album, especially the latter half. It’s got some goofy songs like Sliver and Mexican Seafood, but also has a few songs that are supposed to be taken a bit more seriously like Downer and Aero Zeppelin. I love Kurt’s voice and all the things he can do with it, and the incredible guitar and drums too <3 <3.
