hi for my first blog entry pertaining to frogs, I decided I'd make it about one of my favorite species!
The Amazon Milk Frog
Scientific Name: Trachycephalus resinifictrix
Higher Classification: Trachycephalus
Family: Hylidae
Conservation Status: Least Concern!
- The Amazon Milk frog is one of the largest species of frog in South America! They can grow up to 4 inches.
- They get their name not from their color but rather from the secretions the frog might secrete with threatened
- They are also known as "The Mission golden-eyed tree frogs" because of the unique yellow color that their eyes are.
Current Known Threats
- The Amazon Milk frog is a tree frog, so one of it's main threats is habitat loss due to deforestation.
