Story Ideas

I've got a few story ideas that I've been mulling around lately. I really think I could turn each of these into a full-fledged novel.

1. Medieval Zombies

The story would be about an apprentice alchemist and a former assassin teaming up to solve the mystery of the pandemic that is sweeping the kingdom. The virus would be in its infancy, and so reports of the infected would still be rumors. And while the virus and its affects on the human body would be based in science, the origin of it would be necromancy.

2. Cyber Liminal

The story would be set in the cyberpunk future of 2077, or around then. Two mega corporations are at odds with each other, and to get ahead of the competition, one hires a hacker to venture into the Old Web to seek out their parent data. The old website is a broken space, a liminal horror that the hacker is terrified to explore. And a mercenary is hired by the other company to take out the hacker before they can get the info. Figuring out how to describe a liminal space, and the dread that entails, in words is going to be a huge challenge.

3. Fantasy Horror

Two mages set out across the world to figure out why reality is crumbling and sorcerers are dying. And other horrific things. This book would have a lot of body horror, gore, and also deep philosophical drama. The consequences of the use of magic, the fate of humanity, and the arrogance (and divinity) of the human will would be center stage in this story.
